Serious Inquires! Women Only! Missed B.C. Pill?

O.K. the story goes like this. I started my new pack of birth control, YAZ, and sometime this week (I forgot what day) I missed a pill. My husband unually gives brings me my medication but one day forgot. (Our week has been a crazy week. So either of us noticed until tonight) Now my question is, since I doubled up my B.C. is there a chance of getting pregnant? Especially since I didn't double up the next day? Thank you for you help!

Serious Inquires! Women Only! Missed B.C. Pill?
No you should be fine. You only missed one pill. U doubled up so that takes care of it.On regular bc like Yaz you can even triple up and that will be fine. You still won't get pregnant since it has such a high concentration of hormones. If you have been on birth control for an extended amount of time it is even harder to get pregnant. BUT if you just started birth control (like in general) you definetly can get pregnant by missing one and forgetting to double up the next day. There isn't enough in your system that way for you to have a backup supply. You said you started a new pack so I am assuming that you have been taking packs before this. If this is the case you won't get pregnant.
Reply:if you have been on them for a while then you should be safe.
Reply:I think that you'll be fine since you doubled up. My problem when I was taking them was that I missed 1 in the second week and didn't know about double-dosing and I got pregnant. But if you've been taking them for a good long while, I don't think that you should be pregnant.
Reply:Im not a woman but I did pay very close attention to the girlfriends ive had in the past you should be fine even though you did not double up the next day as long as you are back on track with your pills you should have nothing to worrie about!
Reply:Ok, listen. Birth control doesn't totally leave your system if you miss a day. Typically, you can only get pregnant while on BC if:

1.) If pills are begun too late in the course of the menstrual cycle

2.) If two or more pills are missed in a row

3.) If pills are not taken in the correct order

If you miss two or more pills in your cycle, you are not protected from conception for the rest of your cycle, so you should use another method of birth control.

You did the right thing by immediately doubling up on your BC as that is what they tell you to do. You have a 5% chance of getting pregnant with "typical use" of the pill.
