when double clicking on local drives c:/windows/explorer.exe dialog box comes, after clicking ok the window opens

Cant open local hard drives directly by double clicking?
to remove it just do these.

goto my computer, select Tool %26gt; Folder Options

under the View tab, click show hidden files.

then uncheck 'Hide Protected System files' (click yes on the dialog box)

now close it by pressing OK.

now open your drive (like u always do)

now you may see a autorun.ini file there.or some simple 1kb or 2kb files extenstion may be(.bat,.vbs,.ini,.inf etc)(donot delete pagefile if exist). it is more likely to see a bat or ini file.

delete them and restart your computer. now the problem will be solved.

IMPORTANT: DONOT DELETE ANY FILES IN C: DRIVE (YOU MAY SEE MANY SIMILLAR FILES IN C:(ur system drive))
Reply:go to tools=%26gt;folder options=%26gt;show hidden files=%26gt;

then open the drive and u can find a file called autorun.ini or autorun.inf..delete the file..do the same in other drives also..reboot ur system and u'll be able to open the drives directly by double clicking..
Reply:Hi,

If u r not able to open the drives, try this i command mode

start --- Run -- cmd -- ok

type this, cd\ -- enter

c:%26gt;dir *.inf /ah /ar /as -- enter

c:%26gt;del *.inf /ah /ar /as -- enter

check this , which drives are not getting open, change the drive name.
Reply:Your pc is infected with virus. Do a online scan or reinstall the os.
Reply:Is that problem -only- with your hard drive ? or also on your other folders? You have a option in control panel to change your mouse to double click.
Reply:some settings might have been changed. read carefully what the dialogue box explains, maybe you can fix the problem from there. otherwise, just right click the hard-drive icon then choose "open".
