Double Standard?

Why when Sen. Robert C. Byrd, political representative for the people said the "N" word six or seven times on national TV did Jeese Jackson and Al Sharpton not call for any action?

When Don Imus, a person who does not fit into their political higherarchy and agendas the scream and kick and cry.

Double Standard?

Double Standard?
So, Imus, an idiot who for years has offended everyone, is now in a pit of boiling tar for his stupid comment. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton are grilling him and throwing a fit.

How come the two Rev's don't have the same distain for the Rap "artists"? This music is loaded with slurs, advocates violence upon women, celebrates drug use and criminal activity.

Wouldn't it seem that if the Rev's really cared about the community and wanted to end the inner city plight, they would go after the medium that has a wide audience and not worry about what a has been DJ is spewing?
Reply:If you really want to do something about Racist Al Sharpton, then click on my profile and read the series of questions that I posted about it . I think I have found the perfect way to make him stop . And many others have already done their duty too !!

Just read the questions and you'll find the answer you're looking for !!
Reply:Political correctness and race baiting have successfully neutered the liberties of whites.

The time is almost here to create the National Association for the Advancement of White People (NAAWP)
Reply:`Cause KKK Byrd, has a "D", beside his name. Double standard? Most definitley. Why does someone vent anger %26amp; hatred, for Our President. And not get hauled off to Jail. It's a Freedom of Speech, alright. The Freedom to speak as "They" want us to.
Reply:Byrd obviously should not have used that term but he was referring to white people. Sharpton and Jackson are not normally in the business of defending white people since there are certainly enough issues in the black community to keep them busy.

Hardly anyone paid any attention when Sharpton criticized rap artists for their language. I guess it just wasn’t interesting enough.
Reply:We all know it's a double standard and totally unfair...
Reply:Sharpton HAS protested rap music lyrics!!!!

It just doesn't get the coverage!

How about we just stop calling each other names like 3rd graders?
Reply:That is the way the media works. If your not in their little circle of minority groups of some type then your opinion does not count.
Reply:Yes. Byrd is to politically connected for the dubious twosome to take on.
Reply:If people would realize that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton only care about issues that will propel them to the spotlight, the sooner they can just accept that neither one is seeking equality for all and that fairness and hypocrisy doesn't matter to them. Those two only care about what will line their pockets and what will keep them in the spotlight. The reason Jackson hasn't gone after Byrd is because Byrd sponsors bills for him, another example of the "extortion" that I think Jackson and Sharpton use to get what they want. It isn't even what is best for the black race but what is best for Jackson or Sharpton at any given time. IMO, they are not good representatives for anyone.
Reply:NAAWP...... National Association for the Advancement of White People. Snow you are right it's time we take back our liberties and quit walking around on pins and needles, afraid we might say the wrong thing and offend someone. do you think for one minute we are given the same consideration, Whether it be in reference to our skin color or religion, or political affiliation. So yes you bet there's a double standard.
Reply:Jesse Jackson an Al Sharpton are not going to call for action when it is against a person in their democrat party. That may cause chaos in the party. They have to be on their "P's %26amp;Q's" inorder to hope to win the white house in "08. They want to sweep it under the rug . Let us not forget that Sen. Byrd did once belong to the KKK.
Reply:KKK is the origin of the senator:

Reply:That is one of the good things to come out of this. The blatant double standard these two aholes get away with.

People are realizing how the media attacked Imus and at the same time we find these Duke lacrosse players were crucified by these and many other total scumbags. Mostly all liberals, black and white.
Reply:Oh yeah there is a double standard.

Look how racist japan is and no one moans about them.

By The Way feel free to join my new group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Racism_UK
Reply:I think anyone should be allowed to say it. It pisses me off the those political opportunists try to bring everyone down when ever they feel like it. They are the only racist people I know. They are a detriment to the black community and its progression into society.
Reply:Double standard indeed; that's just one of many.
Reply:Can you provide a video or audio link showing Sen. Robert C. Byrd saying the "N" word?
Reply:You have a point
