In "My Computer" my local disk dosnt open in double clicks, instead it ask me to "open with" the list of files

Local Disk Drive C and D should open when i double click on the drive, but recently i have notice, when i click those drives, it ask me to "open with" the selected programs i want to use to open the file.

This is not normal. Thus, it should open like any other folder do.

Can someone help me resolve this case...

Thank you in advance!

In "My Computer" my local disk dosnt open in double clicks, instead it ask me to "open with" the list of files
Select the Windows explorer program for this, usually located:

C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe

Then check the option "Always use this..."

Close the folder view, then double click on the drive, it should open up otherwise you need to update file association for folders/drives to allow explorer.exe to open them.

I think this forum post should answer your question perfectly:

Good luck.
Reply:Click START, then RUN and type in CMD, and click on OK.

When the Command Prompt appears, type "C:" and hit ENTER.

Type "CD\" and hit ENTER.

Type "ATTRIB -S -R -H -A AUTORUN.INF", and hit ENTER.

Type in "DEL /F /Q AUTORUN.INF".

Reboot your pc.

Try to double click your drive now.

(All the typing is done WITHOUT " ")

Try one of these:

01.) run this in your run box or command prompt:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

Reply:please give more information. What is your OS, check the amount of free space on your hard drive. Did you check the settings in the control panel called "file options"?
